On the silencing of Elizabeth May

Just a short note on the refusal of Conservative MP's to allow Ms May to share her thoughts on the Extension of Harper's distraction...er...war

While it was indeed disgusting that the Conservatives would bar her from speaking  the real issue is partisan party control of the House by all parties. Independents and those belonging to parties without the numbers to gain "official" recognition are treated as second class citizens.

This must end.

Every MP elected to Parliament must be treated equally with the same rights, privileges and resources the "official" parties grant unto themselves. Anything less is wholly undemocratic and disrespectful to those who elected MPs like Elizabeth May.

Further, while it was commendable of the NDP to gift Ms May with a spot that she may speak, they are party to these unfair and undemocratic rules.
